Public-Private Partnership

Durango Mesa Park is a powerful example of what’s possible through a strong public-private partnership between the Durango Mesa Park Foundation and the City of Durango, working together to expand access to open space, outdoor recreation, and community gathering places for all. Grounded in inclusiveness, belonging, stewardship, and economic vitality, the partnership is investing in critical infrastructure to bring the long-term vision for the park to life. The property remains privately held, with a multi-year, phased conveyance planned to the City of Durango to ensure thoughtful, sustainable transition and long-term public benefit.

By creating new trails, a destination bike park, recreational facilities, and shared open space, Durango Mesa Park will help relieve pressure on busy city amenities while supporting future music, cultural, and community venues that invite connection and celebration.

Durango Mesa Park is built in close partnership with a wide range of local organizations that help shape the park’s culture and purpose. Together, we ensure Durango Mesa Park serves all ages and abilities, offering welcoming access to outdoor recreation while also providing training and competition grounds to inspire and develop the next generation of champions.
